Attending a school tour is the best way to find out more about our vibrant and inclusive school. We offer regular small group tours for parents and carers interested in a place at Riversdale throughout the year, which usually take place on Monday and Thursday at 9:30am. Riversdale's Nursery can accommodate upto 26 children. These are mainstream spaces and are made up of a combination of Full-Time and Part-Time places.
Please note that a Nursery place is no guarantee of a place in Reception the following year.
Applications to join Riversdale's Nursery are made through the school itself. Our Nursery Admissions Policy and criteria can be found on the school's Policies page.
Applications for a Nursery place must be received by the school on or before the last day of January each year. Application forms are available from the school office or can be downloaded here. Please note that forms must be handed in or posted to the school office, emailed forms cannot be accepted.
Children start Reception in the academic year (September to August) that they have their 5th birthday. You should apply for a Reception place by mid-January of the year that your child starts Reception in September.
You should apply for your primary school place to the borough in which you live, even if you are applying for schools that are not in that borough.
All Reception admissions are managed by Wandsworth Borough Council on our behalf. Please visit the Wandsworth website for more information and to make an application. You can also contact them by email at admissions@wandsworth.gov.uk or by telephone on 020 8871 7316.
If you miss the application deadline and are interested in a place, you can still put in an application through Wandsworth Council to be added to the waiting list.
You can make an application to apply for Riversdale at any time as we do occasionally have places available. If you have questions before applying or if you would like to know if there might be a place available, please contact the General Office on 020 8874 6904 or email info@riversdale.wandsworth.sch.uk and our dedicated team will be happy to help.

If a place is available, we will contact you to offer you the place. If there are no spaces currently available in that year group, your child will be added to the waiting list and we will contact you once they have reached the top of the waiting list and a place is available.
When you accept your place, we can then arrange a start date, uniform, and provide any other information you need. We will also talk to you about what could help your child as they start at a new school.
There is a right to appeal if your child does not get a place in the school of your choice. This is managed by the local authority and more information and guidance can be found on their website.
All admissions for the Resource Base are done via an EHCP consultation process through the local authority. The school is not able to offer places in the Resource Base outside of this process. Please note: Resource Base admissions are from Reception upwards; the school is not able to facilitate nursery places within the Resource Base.
